The education crisis is getting worse and there is little relief insight while the overcrowding spreads across Havelock North and Hastings. First Havelock North was promised a new school, but instead it got a compensation package of six classrooms which the National Government is failing to deliver on and local have been told to expect further delays.

Build More Homes - Anna Lorck

At a time when we should be leading on the home front, it is unacceptable that Hastings and Tukituki are being left behind.

Increasing demand for housing is a positive indicator for our local economy because population growth powers our district and will propel Hastings forward.

Right now we should taking every opportunity, addressing supply and feeding the market demand, but instead, we are wasting it.

Free GP visits for Hawke's Bay Teens gets support - Anna Lorck

A move in Hawke’s Bay towards free doctor visits for more than half the region’s teenagers, has been welcomed by Labour’s Tukituki candidate Anna Lorck.

 “It’s a bold responsibility for the Hawke’s Bay DHB to recommend it invest in zero fee subsidies for 13 to 17 year olds – starting with those living in the region’s most deprived areas.

 “I hope this pilot gets the go ahead as it could make a real difference for many of our youth who are telling us they cost and access are stopping teenagers going to the doctor,” she said
